Job Description:

The Role

​Are you an experienced capital introduction professional with deep knowledge of the alternative investing space?  Do you have a track record of success and established relationships with institutional investors and allocators including pension funds, endowments, and RIAs to drive the distribution of alternatives?  Can you build relationships and collaborate with an experienced Sales team to generate leads and help execute an end-to-end Sales process?  If so, we are excited to speak with you about a Senior Vice President, Head of Credit Alternatives Business Development role in Fidelity’s Institutional Client Group (ICG) organization!

 

ICG is the institutional distribution arm of Fidelity’s Asset Management business with responsibility for managing the investment relationships with Fortune 500 and large public sector clients.  We are looking for an experienced financial services professional who has experience in alternative credit. The ideal candidate will require a growth mindset, investment acumen and the ability to collaborate across Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Consultant Relations, Asset Management, and Client Service functions.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor’s degree required – MBA and/or CFA strongly desired

12+ years prior successful capital introduction experience in alternatives from a private equity fund, asset manager, prime brokerage/capital introduction group, or top ranked placement agent

Experience working with institutional investors across defined contribution, defined benefit, corporate balance sheet, and insurance general account assets

Organized and diligent approach to managing CRM, client communications, and prospect follow-up

Outstanding partnership skills and ability to partner across portfolio managers, product development, senior managers, legal and compliance, and salespeople across various coverage areas, among others

Experience in the private markets industry, including hedge funds, distressed debt, real estate, and Private Debt

Experience working with alternatives across Product Development, Relationship Management and Sales

Strong attention to detail and ability to multi task

FINRA Series 7 and 63 required

Talent for effectively communicating complex information – both verbally and in writing

Desire to work effectively across a collaborative and inclusive culture

Strong work ethic and willingness to travel extensively for client meetings and events.

The Purpose and Value of Your Role

The primary goal of the SVP, Head of Credit Alternatives Business Development role is to help the experienced sales team drive AUM growth across Fidelity’s alternative investment capabilities.  Key responsibilities include:

Partner with Investment Portfolio Managers and Sales teams to identify prospect targetsUtilize both personal and Fidelity relationships to originate leads, drive engagement, conduct sales meetings and deliver pitches.Collaborate with an experienced Sales and Relationship Management team to develop engagement strategies for existing clients and new prospectsPartner with the marketing team to incorporate investor feedback and refine the sales pitch as necessary. Understand market pricing and required product structures for different customer types Harvest and analyze data from proprietary and public information sources to generate best ideas and identify high conviction Sales opportunitiesPresent updates of Sales goals, campaign efforts, and key areas of focus for senior management and internal audiencesProactively attend industry conferences and capital introduction events, and organize road shows.Collaborate with pertinent internal teams to enhance institutional reporting and due diligence requirements
