Summary

In this role, you will grow Samsung’s world-leading Home Entertainment business (e.g., TVs, Sound Bars). As a P&L owner and General Manager, you’ll lead a 200+ workforce across the following functions: Product & Integrated Marketing, Sales, Operations & Analytics, and Retail Channel Partnerships.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for all commercial aspects of the Home Entertainment (HE) business, including leading strategy, planning, and execution of initiatives to increase market share and optimize profit.  Monitor assortment, cost, pricing, and fulfillment to make strategic changes that achieve sales and margin plans.Attract, develop, and retain top talent to grow sales revenue, achieve profitability goals, and maintain Samsung's position as the world's #1 home entertainment manufacturer.Develop, direct, and negotiate customer sales agreements at the corporate or business channel level.  Ensure that negotiated commitments are delivered according to plan. Meet with customers and channel partners to identify new business opportunities and ensure the highest level of customer service.Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders in Samsung’s matrixed organizational structure.  This includes the development of relationships within the US subsidiary and stakeholders at our global headquarters in South Korea.

Skills and Qualifications

20+ years of progressive experience with a strong track record of promotion to positions of greater responsibility. Ideally, five or more years leading an organization of over 100 employees for businesses of $1B+ in revenue.Similar GM (business unit leader) experience in Consumer Electronics or related industries.  Candidates with category or business unit leadership from Big-Box Retail may also be considered.Career experience leading across two or more functional areas including Product Management/Marketing, Integrated or Brand Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, Data/Analytics, or Customer Care.  Ideal background includes Product Marketing and Product Strategy leadership experience.Experience in developing and negotiating successful win-win retail channel partnerships.  Well-versed in D2C and retail strategies.Customer-focused leader with strong strategic planning, analytical, and financial skills and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.Known as an inspirational, collaborative, and engaging leader with a bias for action with demonstrated experience influencing and building consensus in large, highly-matrixed organizations.  Concise and effective verbal and written communicator with experience turning large complex data sets into digestible stories for CEO or Board of Director audiences.Demonstrated success in creating innovative Go-to-Market (GTM) plans that drive demand.Prior experience leading a business through a change in market dynamics, such as the emergence of new competitors or a shift in consumer preferences, is strongly preferred.Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
