SVP, IT Portfolio Management

Summary:

The SVP, IT Portfolio Management is responsible for the strategic oversight and governance of the organization’s IT project portfolio. This role ensures that IT projects align with business goals, deliver value, and operate within budget and resource constraints. The SVP will lead the prioritization, selection, and execution of IT projects, ensuring optimal resource allocation, effective financial management, and risk mitigation. This role will also oversee vendor management to ensure delivery excellence and manage relationships with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the organization’s IT project portfolio, ensuring projects are aligned with business goals and delivering value.

Manage the prioritization, selection, and review of IT projects to ensure resource optimization and balance of the project load.

Ensure visibility and tracking of project performance, cost, and risk management across the portfolio.

Handle budgeting and invoicing for IT projects and services, ensuring proper financial controls are in place.

Work closely with the Executive team and finance department to track expenses, manage budgets, and forecast financial needs for IT projects and operations.

Review and approve vendor invoices, ensuring alignment with contract terms and accurate billing.

Develop and maintain strategic plans for IT operations and project initiatives, coordinating timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.

Collaborate with project managers, business stakeholders, and leadership to ensure that IT plans align with the company’s strategic priorities.

Oversee capacity planning to ensure IT infrastructure and resources can meet the current and future needs of the organization.

Manage relationships with external vendors, including negotiating contracts, setting service level agreements (SLAs), and tracking performance.

Ensure vendors deliver on their contractual obligations, meet deadlines, and provide quality products or services.

Conduct regular reviews and evaluations of vendor performance, handling escalations, and addressing any issues that may arise.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has direct reports. Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.

Master’s degree (MBA or related field) preferred.

15+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, program management, or related leadership roles.

5+ years in senior leadership, with experience managing large-scale IT portfolios and multi-million-dollar budgets.
