ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Managing Director will lead and grow the company’s wealth management division. This position will shape the future of wealth management, combining strategic vision with operational excellence to build an industry leading department.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Provide vision and executive leadership for Wealth Management Division. Work closely with Alerus Investment and Fiduciary Services and Alerus Securities Unit Leaders ensuring annual revenue and net income growth objectives are achieved in each area. Develop and execute the strategic vision for the division. Set and achieve annual new business goals and client retention objectives. Identify and assess opportunities for growth, including new markets, products and service offerings. Maintain awareness of the importance of ERM, Audit, Compliance and SOX Controls. Lead preparation and response to regulatory information requests, examinations and audits. Assure a high-level wealth management client experience. Build effective cross collaboration between business units. Provide updates on Wealth Management Division to other division leaders. Collaborate with other divisions to maximize Wealth Management growth opportunities. Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing team of wealth management advisors.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:

15+ years or progressive wealth management experience. 7+ years in a team leadership capacity. Bachelor's degree in business or related field. CFP,CFA, MBA or related advanced education or certification a plus. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Ability to change and adapt quickly while remaining focused on customers and executing business initiatives. Ability to lead, prioritize and execute on multiple priorities simultaneously. Proven experience to recruit and build high performing teams.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office utilizing proper ergonomic safeguards when doing so. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift or move supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.
