All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with VITAS Healthcare Corporation’s policies, procedures, guidelines, contractual commitments and governmental regulations.
• Specific responsibilities include supervision of all human resources functions, including but not limited to, HR Generalist, Field HR Leadership, Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Human Resources Information Systems, Training and Development, Recruitment, and Payroll. • Works closely with the executive team to ensure corporate wide strategic goals and objectives are achieved. • Provides strategic leadership to the organization in assigned areas of responsibility. • Utilize HR metrics to monitor trends and identify opportunities to adjust programs/initiative to drive positive results. • Ensure compliance with local and federal labor laws. • Seeks ongoing improvement in the delivery of administrative services to the organization as well as in the management of company affairs. • Ensures corporate policies and programs approved by Executive Management are implemented. • Represent the organization on various boards, agencies and associations. • Create a model that supports the organization's mission and values based on an internal and external needs assessment. • Monitors the internal/external environment and identifies opportunities to fulfill the corporate strategy. • Serves as strategic liaison for key organizational initiatives between business units and their customers, both internal and external. • Assesses current models of business operations and develops appropriate new models as needed. • Develop policies in alignment with corporate goals that support labor practices and that affect employees. • Performs related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience: • 10 years’ minimum experience • Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously. • Knowledge of policies and practices involved in the human resources function • Ability to manage staff in a positive and productive manner by motivating, developing and managing employees as they work • Ability to utilize and administer the disciplinary action process through coaching and counseling to improve performance or terminate employment • Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions • Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Excel and Word.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent. Master’s degree is preferred.
