SVP - Corporate Development, Financial Services
Position Summary World is seeking a Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, reporting to the Chief Corporate Development Officer. The SVP – Corporate Development will lead the strategy and sourcing of all financial services transactions in World’s retirement and wealth lines of business.  This role is crucial in driving World’s inorganic growth strategy.  Headquartered in Iselin, NJ, World is a unique professional services organization offering our clients a world-class suite of products and services in business and personal insurance, employee and executive benefits, retirement planning and financial services, and human capital management solutions.  Having completed over 300 transactions since 2011, World has deep expertise in creating lasting shareholder value through high-volume M&A processes.  This position will lead the team that is responsible for driving strategy, origination, and execution of all transactions in the retirement and wealth sectors.  Primary Responsibilities + Inorganic Growth Strategy + Ownership of the inorganic growth strategy for World’s retirement and wealth lines of business + Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing, and competitive landscape. + Establish the ideal prospect profile (e.g., geography, product, or sector specialties) that aligns with organizational/business unit need + Deal Sourcing and Origination + Drive and manage outbound sourcing resources and processes + Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, advisors, and industry contacts. + Assess strategic fit and drive the acquisition process through LOI + Own valuation and transaction pricing process + Transaction Execution + Lead negotiations with sellers prior to LOI + Champion all financial service transactions through execution + Partner with the transaction execution team through due diligence and contracting process + Manage pricing discussions with sellers and advisors + Executive and Board Communications + Manage the board approval process for all financial services transactions + Manage weekly board communications and reporting + People Leader + Leading the financial services corporate development team and ensuring the achievement of organizational goals + Responsible for setting objectives, managing resources, providing guidance and support to team members + Monitoring performance and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Qualifications + Education: MBA in Finance, Economics, or Business from an accredited institution. + Experience: 10+ years of M&A experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, in the retirement or wealth industry + Skills: Strong analytical and strategic skills, experience in evaluating, negotiating, and closing acquisition deals, and success in leading end-to-end processes for business growth. + Communication: Executive presence and ability to create and deliver board-level communications.  + Location: NYC area with an ability to be in World’s Midtown office 4 days a week + Travel: Up to 40% travel may be required + Team: Strong leadership and mentoring skills + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. + Fixed and variable compensation will be commensurate with experience and include a significant equity package. Physical Demands Office work involves working at a desk most of the time, using a stand-up/sit-down adjustable desk. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Typing, grasping, and repetitive motion typically is required every day, and walking and standing are required occasionally.
