The Scrum Master is accountable for guiding, coaching, teaching and assisting team in Scrum / Agile principles and driving process improvement.
The Scrum Master works with the team to deliver value and coordinates within and outside of the team to facilitate the completion of the team’s backlog.
Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
Guiding the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers.
Guiding the team on how to get the most of out of self-organization.
Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.
Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right person within the organization to help.
Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information.
Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.
Required Skills/Experience:
Formal training as a Scrum Master, which may include certification such as CSM, PSM or ACP.
Experience in Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
Preferred Skills/Experience (Any of these is a plus):
Experience in the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
Experience with JIRA for managing backlogs, sprints, and scrum boards.
Awareness and experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in engineering development and implementation, project planning tools and software packages, people management, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

The base pay range for this role is $90,100 to $138,750 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
