About This Opportunity This is a great opportunity for a software engineer looking to utilize skills in java and spring boot. We build highly available payment processing platforms (platform as a service) utilizing microservice based rest API’s in spring boot. We are an agile shop, where you will be esponsible for working as part of a team to deliver the design, architecture, implementation, and monitoring of our mission-critical, server-side applications throughout our Software Development Lifecycle. Responsibilities Technical background with good English-writing writing skills Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills Self-starter who is resourceful and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and deal with suddenly shifted priorities Long-term ownership of submitted work (our teams have a track record of continuously improving platforms under their stewardship for over a decade) High technical competency in Java, Hibernate, Microsoft SQL Server, REST web technologies, and the ability and desire to learn new technical skills quickly Ability to apply best practices and proven strategy to maximize the growth and total value of OLS’s service offerings Ability to work with our product owners and subject matter experts at the highest levels, both technical and non-technical Ability to read existing code and contribute product enhancements, critical fixes, and performance improvements. Ability to deal expertly and immediately with our unique concerns about transaction concurrency, thread management, and Java memory management Possessor of an “Always Available” mindset, willing to take a support call at any point; carry an innate understanding that transactions run 24x7x365 and problems don’t schedule themselves to fit working hours Qualifications Expert understanding of API Architecture and Management, Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment, Release Automation, Software Architecture and Patterns, Automated Testing, and the ability to implement those throughout the organization Ability to contribute to a development team utilizing Agile software development methodologies and principles Familiarity with Secure Application Development Practices and Secure Software Development Lifecycle.
