At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To do this, we start with our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization.
The Developer Environments team at Lyft is responsible for building the right set of tools to enable Engineers at Lyft to test their code changes before it gets shipped to production. We strive to provide our engineers with the safest and fastest features that enable them to validate their code locally on their laptops as well as in our integrated “staging” environment and catch errors early on in the development cycle. This means providing reliable tools with a great user experience that improves the developer productivity of engineers.
We also own mission critical platforms at Lyft that ensure that Lyft systems and architecture can handle the load of customer demand during peak events like New Years Eve, as well as catching defects in code before they reach production. These goals are achieved through building and supporting the fundamental test infrastructure and platforms for orchestrating and generating simulated traffic, through a large-scale ride simulator and an end-to-end testing framework.
Responsibilities:As an infrastructure software engineer on the Developer Environments team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining tools, services and libraries that all Engineers at Lyft utilize to perform testing & validation.
You will have the opportunity to partner with various other infrastructure and product teams across the company to improve reliability, developer productivity and drive innovation. Your work will help build a resiliency into the Lyft ecosystem by simulating scenarios that can identify software or process failures across Lyft.
We are looking for candidates who are self starters and have a proven track record of delivering software solutions that can solve critical business needs. The candidate should be able to dive deep into any problems with lots of ambiguity and build a technical solution to solve it.
