What’s the role?

Sky News Australia is currently looking for a full time Syndication Producer based at the Sky News Centre in Macquarie Park. The candidate is part of Sky News Digital’s Audience Growth team, responsible for the network’s syndication of programming content to digital platforms.

This role is responsible for compiling and distributing digital news and On-Demand videos across Sky News' extensive online network, including our Sky News Australia streaming service and international subscription platform Australia Channel.

This is an entry-level role with all technical capabilities to be taught on the job. The ideal candidate will be able to display previous experience in taking initiative and working autonomously, whilst being able to take direction on priorities and editorial and writing style.

The Sky News newsroom is in operation 24 hours a day and all members of the team are required to be available for flexible hours, including irregular hours and unpredictable shifts, driven by news demands with regular weekend work.

Key Responsibilities:

Compiling short bulletins ready for distribution

Using video editing software (Quantel)

Efficient proof reading

Cutting and distributing licensed content

Additional syndication duties as required including converting programs into Podcasts, uploading On-Demand programs, delivering E-Newsletters

Summarising discussions from news shows to compile written program synopses

Scheduling for On-Demand platforms

Who are you?

Entry level position suited to a recent journalism graduate

A positive attitude with enthusiasm for learning new skills

Ability to work unsupervised, to tight deadlines and under pressure

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Keen interest in news and politics
