Own your opportunity at GDIT and you’ll be a meaningful part of improving how agencies operate.  Our work depends on a Active Directory Administrator joining our team to support the Guard Enterprise Cyber Operations Support (GECOS) program in Falls Church, VA.

This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG’s global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services.  The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses ITIL best practices framework as the basis for IT Service Management (ITSM) model.

To be successful in this position you need to be collaborative and willing to work within a team. While you will need to be a self-starter completing tasks on your own, working together is critical in this role. You will be interfacing with the client and senior staff. Therefore, you should be articulate in your communications because your opinion matters. You will need to explain technical intricacies in a way that is easily understood.

HOW AN ACTIVE DIRECTORY ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Assist in the daily administration of Active Directory (AD), including user account provisioning, Group Policy management, and security group configurationSupport the configuration of AD Certificate Services (AD CS) including basic certificate issuance and renewal processesHelp manage and troubleshoot AD Federation Services (AD FS) to support single sign-on (SSO) and secure authentication for applicationsSupport the configuration and troubleshooting of AD replication, domain controllers, and DNSMonitor and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce system policies and ensure DISA STIG compliance to organizational standardsParticipate in security audits and reviews of Active Directory permissions, access controls, and logsCollaborate with senior administrators implement solutions that integrate with AD CS and AD FSDocument configurations, processes, and changes in the AD environmentMonitor and respond to alerts related to AD health and performanceStay up -to-date on best practices and emerging trends in directory services, identity management, and certificate management

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education/Equivalent Training Required:

High school diploma or higher.  Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Required Experience:

2+ years of overall demonstrated experience in IT support, systems administration, or similar roleBasic understanding of Active Directory concepts (domain controllers, GPOs, replication)

Required Technical Skills Requirements:

IT experience supporting large enterprise Windows workstation/server environment.Experience with basic user account management (password resets, account unlocks).Basic knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.Exposure to tools like PowerShell for basic administrative tasks.Strong problem solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities, including understanding user requirements, troubleshooting technical issues, and successfully resolving issues and challenges.Dependability, in that the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve.Strong organizational, collaborative, written, verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to various audiences to include senior military and government leadership.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Willingness to continuously learn and stay abreast of the latest security trends and technologies and adapt to changes in requirement and new project.Must be able to present your ideas clearly through briefings, meetings, and interaction with leadership of different skill sets.Must be able to provide training sessions as required.Must be able to engage with stakeholders to ensure tasks are progressing and meeting timelines.Strong teamwork and engagement as a project team member.Ability to assimilate information rapidly, motivated to self-study new requirements.Maintain current industry knowledge of relevant concepts, practices, and procedures.Ability to work under time constraints.Adapt to changes in requirements and new projects.May manage or serve as a team lead.Actively participate in all meetings such as, but not limited to weekly staff meetings, weekly training, etc.Analytically inclined with attention to detail and accuracy and consistent follow-through to assure problems are resolved.Analyzes and recommends alternative solutions to meet customer needs.Builds credibility and trust with customers and team members.Identifies areas of opportunity to improve customer satisfaction. Supports the team process and participates on cross-functional teams.Responsible for handling after-hours on call support.

Certification Requirements:

Must possess at interview the appropriate baseline certification(s) to achieve DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II compliance, such as CompTIA Security+ CE.Will need to obtain an additional certification within six months of hire with a specific focus on the Windows Server operating system. Candidate may have further discussions with the program’s Enterprise Operation Manager for more details.When 8140 requirements are implemented on program/contract, employee will need to conform to 8140 certification standards.Maintain and upgrade certifications.

Security Clearance Level Requirements:

Must have a minimum of an active Secret clearance at time of interview and candidate must maintain active clearance.

Location:

Falls Church, VirginiaHours and days TBD upon hire. Three (3) days onsite with up to two (2) days telework. Onboarding/transition in period requires on-site support up to 60 days. GECOS work schedules are subject to change on direction by mission requirements from GDIT or USG leadership.  

Travel:

Up to 10%.  Travel may include attending conferences up to two times annually and site visits as needed.
