Responsibilities:
Junior-level:

Configure and operate various systems, including mainframe, mini, or client/server-based systems

Optimize system operation and resource utilization to ensure peak performance

Conduct system capacity analysis and assist in capacity planning

Provide technical assistance and support to users in accessing and using business systems

Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patches

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise

Assist in the implementation of system security measures and best practices

Contribute to documentation of system configurations and procedures

Collaborate with senior team members on larger projects and initiatives

Intermediate:

Configure, manage, and maintain complex systems, including mainframe, mini, or client/server-based systems

Optimize system operations and resource utilization to ensure maximum efficiency and performance

Conduct thorough system capacity analysis and develop strategic capacity planning

Provide expert assistance and support to users in accessing and utilizing business systems

Implement and manage system security measures and ensure compliance with IT policies

Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolve complex system issues

Develop and maintain system documentation, including standard operating procedures

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT projects and initiatives

Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development

Senior:

Lead the configuration, management, and maintenance of complex enterprise-level systems

Develop and implement strategies to optimize system operations and resource utilization

Conduct comprehensive system capacity analysis and lead long-term capacity planning initiatives

Provide expert-level assistance to users in accessing and utilizing business systems

Design and implement robust system security measures and ensure compliance with IT policies and regulations

Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical system issues and develop innovative solutions

Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation and standard operating procedures

Mentor junior and intermediate team members, fostering their professional growth

Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders on strategic projects and initiatives

Subject Matter Expert/SME:

Serve as the primary technical authority for the configuration and operation of enterprise-level systems

Develop and implement cutting-edge strategies for system optimization and resource utilization

Lead comprehensive system capacity analysis and long-term strategic planning initiatives

Provide expert consultation to executive leadership on system architecture and emerging technologies

Design and oversee the implementation of advanced system security measures and compliance frameworks

Lead critical problem-solving efforts and develop innovative solutions for complex system challenges

Establish best practices and standard operating procedures for system administration across the organization

Mentor senior team members and contribute to the professional development of the IT department

Represent CACI in industry forums and contribute to thought leadership in system administration


Qualifications:
Required: 

Junior-level:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)

0-3 years of experience in system administration or related IT role

US Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance, when needed

Basic knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux) • Familiarity with network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies

Intermediate:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)

3-8 years of progressive experience in system administration

US Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance, when needed

Strong knowledge of various operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, Unix)

Expertise in network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory)

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience with IT service management tools and practices

Senior:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)

8-11 years of extensive experience in system administration

US Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance, when needed

Expert knowledge of various operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux, Unix)

Advanced expertise in network protocols, services, and infrastructure

Proven experience with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms

Strong proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks

Strong leadership and communication skills

Experience with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)

​Subject Matter Expert/SME:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree)

12+ years of extensive, progressive experience in system administration

US Citizen with ability to obtain/maintain Secret security clearance, when needed

Recognized expert-level knowledge of various operating systems, including mainframe, mini, and client/server-based systems

Advanced expertise in network architecture, protocols, and services

Proven track record in optimizing large-scale, complex IT environments

Extensive experience with virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, and emerging IT trends

Superior skills in scripting, automation, and system integration

Exceptional problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking

Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams and executives


Desired:

Junior-level:

Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate)

Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)

Familiarity with IT service management principles and tools

Intermediate:

Relevant IT certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE, VMware VCP)

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$68,400-$143,700
