System Administrator II

Akima Systems Engineering is looking for a System Administrator to manage systems for the Us Coast Guard C5I Service Center.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, installs and maintains operating and systems software; manages systems configuration; monitors compliance with system standards; evaluates software and/or hardware; administers and maintains user accounts and profiles; and performs operating system troubleshooting.

Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.

Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.

Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.

Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.

Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.

Provides technical support for system users.

Performs work under general supervision.

Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Typically requires BA and 2-4 years.

Qualifications

Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Engineering and a minimum of three (3) years of system administration experience is required; or certificate from an accredited Community or Technical College in System Administration and five (5) years of system administration experience is required.

Requires successful completion of additional training in one or more leading network operating systems, equipment, and protocols within two (2) years of task order solicitation.

A current System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or equivalent certification is required.

A Secret clearance is required.

Pay Range

90-100K
