HOW THE ARMY SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As the subject matter expert in Army and DOD standards, the System Administrator is involved in building, maintaining and configuring all Risk Management Framework Servers (RMF) at the Fort Carson MTC.The System Administrator works with both the Army unit and the MTC technical staff with updating standalone systems, call manager and ASTi.At the Fort Carson MTC, you will review STIGs and Best Business Practices (BBPs) to ensure all servers meet the required Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). You will resolve unique challenges every week!You will interface with the Army’s continually improving and troubleshooting MCIS and other related system software issues. Provides IT Technical Support for the MTC, its functional training teams and training units Your knowledge and expertise in managing MCIS and other related systems with IAVAs and updates will assist in securing the MTC servers. Enabling large and medium scale exercises at the Battalion, Brigade, and Division level, improving Army combat readiness and mission command proficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Completed a BS or BA degree, Information Technology or related field. Required Experience: Background of at least three (3) year’ experience as a System Administrator can be substituted for the lack of a degree.Required Certifications: You possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as IAT Level II in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M. (CCNA Security, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CND, CySA+, etc.).Required Technical Skills:Must have eight years of computer experience working independentlyAt least five years’ experience in analysis and design of business applications for complex, large-scale or mid-tier computer systems, or LAN-based systems.Develop and implement security policies, rules, and signatures for HBSS to protect endpoint systems from threats.Ensure HBSS deployment and operations comply with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, DISA STIGs).Security Clearance Level: Must possess an active SECRET clearanceRequired Skills and Abilities:General knowledge on complex application problems involving all phases of systems administration.Solid communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent attention to detail and documentation skills.Ability to multi-task and consistently meet multiple deadlines.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Preferred Skills:Strong Linux Skills (Docker, Containers, Kubernetes, RHEL, Satellite, scripting, ansible playbooks)Experience maintaining systems within a DoD Risk management Framework (RMF) accredited environmentSIEM (Splunk, SolarWinds, etc.)RedHat Enterprise Linux experienceVMware/MS Hypervisor/RedHat VM Manager virtualization of desktops, applications and servers experience.PowerShell or other scripting experienceLocation: On-site at Fort Carson, Colorado Mission Training ComplexGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:

The likely salary range for this position is $80,226 - $92,293. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
