Akima Systems Engineering is looking for a System Administrator to manage systems for the Us Coast Guard C5I Service Center. Description of Duties as follows: Under direct supervision, installs and maintains operating and systems software, manages systems configuration, monitors compliance with system standards, evaluates software and/or hardware, administers and maintains user accounts and profiles, and performs operating system troubleshooting
Responsibilities
Administers, develops, runs tests, implements, and maintains operating system and related software.
Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.
Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and performs data recoveries.
Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and disk space forecasts.
Provides technical support for system users. Performs work under direct supervision.
Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Engineering or certificate from an accredited Community or Technical College in System Administration and two (2) years of system administration experience required.
A current System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or equivalent certification is required.
Additional specific information assurance certification requirements may be required at the task order level.
A Secret clearance is required.
Pay Range
50000 - 65000
