Join this team, and you’ll collaborate with engineers across Apple to deep dive into hardware and software technologies, uncover potential optimization to enhance and improve customer experiences across Apple devicesDescriptionDescriptionApple’s Platform Architecture group is seeking a highly motivated system analysis engineer with excellent analytical skills. This position requires deep interest in building breadth and depth of system level analysis. You are a critical problem solver with an aptitude for learning new technologies. In this role, you will work to: • Identify key experiences for different user groups, define useful metrics, design experiments to measure & analyze the experiences and build useful insights informed by data and heuristics. • Measure system analytics such as performance, power, thermal and acoustic data across both Apple and competitor devices to analyze hardware and software behavior and recommend the best user experiences. • Uncover potential optimization across all aspects of hardware such as CPU, GPU, neural engine, media engine, memory, storage etc. and that of software such as OS, drivers, application etc. • Collaborate with engineering groups to pursue opportunities to enhance and improve customer experiences. • Stay on top of the latest developments in technology, device features, user experiences and product launches.Minimum QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree, or equivalent years of experience.Key QualificationsKey QualificationsPreferred QualificationsPreferred QualificationsUnderstanding of operating system fundamentals and system performance analysis & debug.Experience with system performance and power profiling tools.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally from silicon to SW teams.Passion and desire to learn new things, from deep technical topics to user workflowsScripting skills such as Python, C/C++ or similar.Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems is a bonus.Education & ExperienceEducation & ExperienceAdditional RequirementsAdditional RequirementsPay & BenefitsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
