Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a System Clinical Documentation Improvement Auditor/Educator to join our team. This is a remote position that requires residency in KY or IN
Function in a fully accountable role with respect to ensuring the overall quality of clinical documentation and the constant improvement thereof by assisting CDI, physicians, and hospital staff utilizing their clinical expertise. The Auditor/Educator will provide guidance on documentation best practices by keeping up-to-date knowledge of Coding Clinic and coding guidelines. Must be self-motivated and easily adaptable to change.
Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree (BSN) in nursing and 5 years acute health care nursing (with 2 years' experience in clinical documentation) OR Associate degree (ASN) with 7 years acute health care nursing (with 2 years' experience in clinical documentation)
Knowledge of ICD-9-CM coding principles and procedures
Knowledge of CPT coding
Knowledge of DRG assignment
Knowledge of medical record organization
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner despite fluctuations in workflow
Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills is required
Proficient in e-mail, Word, Excel, data entry and data retrieval systems, 3M software and internet
Certifications/licenses:
Registered Nurse-active Kentucky license
Certified Documentation Improvement Professional (CDIP) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), required within one year of hire.
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), optional
