We have opportunities for talented engineers to join the Rolls-Royce Defence System Design & Architecting team as project deployed System Design engineers.  As a System Design engineer you will have a sound knowledge of Systems Engineering and robust design tools and techniques. You will be responsible for and have knowledge in: problem resolution, defining requirements; designing and integrating products, systems & product systems; performing technical analysis; verifying products, systems and components throughout the product lifecycle. You will also be a key contributor in the development of the whole engine system architecture and overseeing functional and physical interactions within the propulsion system and at the platform interface.

Key Accountabilities:

Proficiency with system integration & system modelling tools. Strong use and understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories.

Coordinate activities across stakeholders to define, manage and meet interdependencies between subsystems to meet requirements.

Experience in building and assessing systems engineering and architecture models using a modelling methodology to conduct technical assessments and recommendations that inform key technical decisions.

Basic understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to capture structural, behavioral, parametric and requirement aspects of the system.

Experience in problem resolution including ownership of, for example: root cause investigations, problem reports, Red Tops, Safety Alert Reports (SARs), Quality Concerns, Major Quality Investigations (MQIs), Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs).

Strong written and verbal communications skills

Ability to get buy-in on concepts and ideas.

Support and present concepts during technical design reviews.

Creative thinker

Ability to multi-task

Effective in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions.

Basic Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of relevant engineering experience; OR

Master’s degree in Engineering; OR

JD/PhD in Engineering

Systems Engineering / Systems Integration experience

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship

Preferred Requirements:

Previous experience in a New Product Introduction (NPI) program

Previous experience supporting a diverse and cross-functional project team

Previous experience with US Department of Defense (DoD) programs and DoD customer interfacing experience

Previous experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated toolsets
