The roles involve working with business and external stakeholders to support the delivery of key programme milestones thus enabling the delivery of our Defence Combat strategy.
In this role, you will create innovative, world-class Gas Turbine designs that operate at the extremes of technology and deliver solutions that satisfy customer requirements by balancing product attributes. You will be working with multi-disciplinary teams and using design tools and techniques such as PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), CAD (NX), Systems Engineering and Robust design. Your solutions need to be cost-effective, align to project milestones and take into account the full product lifecycle (such as manufacture, assembly, operation, repair, test and disposal).

What you will be doing:
Collaborating across Engineering Disciplines, to define, manage and meet interdependencies between subsystems/product systems to meet requirements.Design of systems using Systems Engineering principles including the use of Robust Design tools & techniques to achieve optimum solutions at product and sub-system level.Apply understanding of gas turbine product operation, product systems, sub-systems and interactions. Integrate and manage interfaces.Planning and management of product change, design technical approval and support risk assessments.Having technical responsibility of the solutions throughout the technical approval process.Who we are looking for:
Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering. Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.A broad understanding of Gas Turbine physical and functional characteristics would be advantageous.Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis and cost engineering.Will be able to exchange complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way, over a wide range of topics.An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters.Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, and will need to be able to contribute effectively in a team environment.Join us & help Rolls-Royce to become a high-performing, competitive, resilient business.
