System Development Engineer, Amazon Robotics
The Robot Storage Tech team is owns ensuring the successful launch of Amazon Robotic storage systems worldwide by managing the design-to-implementation process of system solutions. We are looking for a Systems Development Engineer to be a part of our global initiative to develop and deliver the next generation of world-class fulfillment systems. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior engineering experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, including design, development, implementation, integration, enhancement, or aide.

Key job responsibilities
* Guide the installation of complex cross-functional projects with considerable impact. Projects may span organizations or geographies to assist business goals.
* Work with internal and external engineering teams to successfully deliver cross-functional projects that are of a high-quality (e.g., on-time, on-budget, maintainable, low-defects, etc.).
* Contribute to project priorities, establishing milestones, and driving schedules to meet a deadline. Establish, capture and present KPI metrics to evaluate success and failure of project.
* Deep dive technical solutions that encompass advanced technology applications, conveyor hardware selection, material handling integration, and commissioning content and expectations.
* Participate in design reviews and assist with execution efforts between internal teams and outside vendors including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout.
* Communicate project status, effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the projects you own to your program management team.
* Capture and synthesize the Voice of Customer (VoC) for all new product introductions and leverage this information to prioritize system defects and influence the triage efforts with Product Development teams applying lessons learned to enable acceleration and deployment scale.
* Identify process improvement initiatives to help operations, deployment, or engineering teams within a geographic node.
* Travel up to 75% throughout North America, which can vary based on peak seasons.
