JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise technology and operations program. The Director, IT Infrastructure will provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage the stability, risk, and effectiveness of systems to the strategy and mission of the organization. Provides technology vision, enables innovation and understands the IT trends that can create business value. Oversees development of enterprise standards and technology architecture, technology evaluation and transfer, and the IT governance process. Manages strategic vendor and partner relationships. Responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability and performance of the infrastructure environment and managing the overall IT day-to-day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance and end-user satisfaction. Provides leadership in planning and managing computer operations and production support, systems and database administration, network operations, and support of other departments. Manages telecommunications, IT resource requirements, and ensures appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands as a whole. Develops and manages quality assurance, capacity management and change control processes to protect the production environment including both the technical infrastructure and business/clinical application environment. Provides in-depth technical expertise for both tactical and operational initiatives. Provides budget planning and oversight for the division and leads IT asset management to ensure asset's full lifetime cycle value is achieved, ensuring appropriate stewardship of the organization's financial assets. Ensures coordination and integration with other Information Systems areas and serves as a key liaison with the business and clinical leaders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum Work Experience 10 years total experience Experience with support of mission critical systems. 10 years’ experience with applications, computer operations, service centers, network management, server management, telecommunications, database management, data warehousing, cloud management, virtual environments, active directory and exchange administration, or similar. Exceptional abilities at load balancing, clustering, and caching procedures and processes. Which includes 6 years with installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I/O topology. Which includes 6 years with server performance tuning and monitoring tools. Working technical knowledge of scripting code. General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS, as well as Active Directory/Global Catalogue. Proven knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies. Project management skills a definite asset, which includes 6 years of Unix/Linux and/or Microsoft SQL experience. Knowledge of Information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) (certification preferred) with respect to security administration and information technology governance in a multiplatform environment. Proven knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies. Demonstrated management skills, e.g., budget development and administration, policy development and implementation, personnel administration, staff training and development. Project management skills a definite asset. Strong Emotional Intelligence with demonstrated sustained leadership involving multiple stakeholders. Proven team leadership skills, staff development skills, and strong communication skills.
