Position Summary
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is seeking a dynamic System Director of Corporate Integrity to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Integrity Department. Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Integrity, you will play a key role in ensuring the organization adheres to federal and state laws, regulations, and internal compliance policies. In this high-impact role, you will work closely with leadership and various departments to develop, implement, and monitor the SRHS Compliance Program, ensuring ethical and legal standards are maintained across all levels of the organization.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

Master’s Degree or higher in Healthcare, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years in a compliance role within a multi-facility healthcare system, including experience as a Director or Manager. At least 5 years of management/supervisory experience, including responsibilities such as hiring, training, and performance management. Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, privacy laws, and clinical documentation requirements. Exceptional judgment, project management skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively within a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate complex compliance matters clearly across all levels of the organization. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Education:

Juris Doctorate (JD) preferred.

Experience:

Proficiency in Epic EHR.

Certifications:

Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), or similar certifications are preferred.

Core Responsibilities

Compliance Leadership: Report directly to the VP of Corporate Integrity, supporting compliance goals and fostering a culture of integrity across SRHS. Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of the Corporate Integrity Department, providing training and support to department associates and addressing personnel issues as needed. Program Implementation: Lead the operational support for the SRHS Compliance Program and Guide of Integrity, ensuring policies and procedures are effectively implemented. Investigation Management: Oversee and/or conduct investigations related to compliance issues, including HIPAA violations, billing concerns, and other potential legal and regulatory violations. Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee SRHS’s reporting hotline, coordinate investigations, and manage annual risk assessments and audit plans. Sanction Screening: Ensure compliance with the Government Sanctions Screening list, reporting any confirmed exclusions promptly. Training & Education: Supervise the development and delivery of training materials aimed at promoting compliance awareness across SRHS. Policy Review & Updates: Assist with the annual review and revision of organizational policies to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations. Budget Management: Oversee the annual budget for the Corporate Integrity Department. Collaboration & Communication: Participate in committees and task forces, communicate key compliance information in a timely and clear manner, and contribute to strategic development. Professional Development: Attend conferences, webinars, and other professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest compliance trends. Special Projects: Take on additional special projects and duties as assigned by the VP, Corporate Integrity.
