Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:
We are looking for a System Engineer to join our Headquarter based in Milan.
The System Engineer is responsible for the engineering of submarine and underground high voltage cable DC systems, in compliance with the relevant specifications and standards, contributing to the energy transition and the electrification of the worldwide energy system.
Your contribution to Prysmian's Success:
Interface with R&D and Product Managers for the definition of innovative technical solutions
Definition of the qualification and testing regime in line with the specifications and standards
Support to the Sales Manager during tender phase through the definition of the costs for the proposed system solution, draft of technical documents and negotiation meetings with the Customers
Support to the Project Manager during contract phase on the technical aspects, drafting technical documents and participating to dedicated and periodical meetings with the Customers.
Draft the qualification test procedures based on the specifications and standards with the supervision and support of Testing department
Technical interface with other departments related to manufacturing, installation, network components, quality and testing during tender and contract phase
Knowledge of the cable thermal, electrical and mechanical limitations; knowledge of the network components necessary to connect and terminate the cables.
Calculation of the cable current rating and electrical stresses
Calculation of the mechanical forces and stresses exerted on the cable during handling and installation operations
You are the right fit if you have/are:
Fluent in English
Master’s degree in Engineering, with preference for Electrical, Mechanical or Energy.
1/3 years experience in the engineering field, preferably in an EPCI environment
Experience in electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical calculation and modelling is considered a plus (e.g. FEM, ATP, EMTP-RV, UFLEX)
Experience in dealing with relevant national and international standards
Good communication and negotiation skills
Analytical and problem-solving skills, target orientation, with attitude to manage properly priorities in coordination with Management.
Attitude to fast learning and self-commitment
Availability for frequent and short business travels
