Job Description

The System Engineer for Spectroscopy is responsible for the technical support of the OES spectroscope production. The production engineer supervises product quality, optimizes production, implements engineering changes, communicates with suppliers, and sometimes with customers. The expert in this position solves sophisticated tasks while participating with other departments - mainly production, development, and service.

The position is suitable for both a graduate and an engineer with experience. Everyone is passionate, proactive, and studious.

What will you do:

Work alongside other production engineering team members and closely collaborate with several departments (R&D, manufacturing, sourcing, service) to efficiently support productionResolve any problems encountered during manufacturing. Investigate and analyze customer service problems and propose solutionsSearch for solutions to improve product quality and optimize production processesSuggest design improvements based on recent technical knowledge, and submit an engineering change requestsMaintain the test equipment at suppliers and in our production, and if needed, design and implement changes

The successful candidate should possess the following:

University degree in a technical field (physics, optics, precision mechanics, electronics, chemistry, etc.), or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skillsGood general technical overview, dexterity, ability to tackle things in a team, but also independentlyExcellent skills (spoken, written) in EnglishGood communication skills and desire for further developmentMust have the ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as the need arises (up to 25% of working time)
