We want you to apply! **Job Summary:** **The role of Division Systems Engineer II is primarily responsible for the design, implementation, and support of various infrastructure technologies for HCA-based facilities and offices. This role will also collaborate with other division and corporate resources to address anticipated action items within scope of support. The Division Systems Engineer II provides communication and coordination for projects within support scope. They will also assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving the complex infrastructure incidents and/or requests. Ideal candidates will possess skills to research, diagnose, and make recommendations within a primarily Windows Server environment.** **Duties and expectations of the Division Systems Engineer II role may include, but is not limited to:** **-Maintain education on the latest infrastructure technologies and security standards to ensure that the business is in alignment with enterprise strategies. This would include infrastructure technologies such as, VMWare ESXi/vCenter/Horizon, Citrix XenApp, and Commvault backup solutions.** **-Fulfilling infrastructure related tasks in projects of various size. This includes attending discovery meetings, ensuring compliance with HCA IT policies/standards, identifying challenges that may impede project go-lives or implementations, communicating roadblocks to project managers, and engaging in the design/implementation of infrastructure based on vendor specifications; along with enterprise standards.** **-Fulfilling operational tasks and project action items. This could include, but is not limited to: system upgrades, enforcement of enterprise security standards, documentation of processes, and ensuring proper functionality of disaster recovery systems.** **-Resolve all incidents, requests, and tasks within their Service Level Agreement (SLA).** **-Adhere to HCA change management processes by submitting changes for all qualifying tasks as determined by division standards and leadership.** **-Participate in the strategic planning of infrastructure support with other members of the team. This includes a rotation of on-call schedules to ensure 24x7x365 coverage of our healthcare facilities.** **-Design and deploy various system and storage technologies per HCA standards.** **-Collect data, identify trends, and create reports to reflect health and/or identify areas of concern within infrastructure components.** **-Create and maintain division level software patching, baselines, and application deployments via Microsoft SCCM.** **-Create, deploy, and administrate system backups on various infrastructure systems.** **-Deploy and maintain infrastructure SAN storage. This includes patching, general administration, and troubleshooting as needed.** **-Ensure that VMWare clusters located both on-prem and in private cloud environments are properly maintained based on corporate standards. This includes monitoring resource utilization and soliciting recommendations based on findings.** **-Consult with business partners, customers, and vendors as needed to offer recommendation and/or assistance.** **-Actively participate in corporate-sponsored technical seminars and planning sessions.** **-Practices and adheres to the HCA Code of Conduct, along with following the philosophy of our mission and values.** **-Mentor and train peers on HCA processes, systems, and standards.** **-Adheres to and supports HCA standards, policies, and procedures.** **-Maintains and protects confidentiality, to all aspects of patient care and employee information.** **-Create and maintain documentation of HCA systems as necessary.** **Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities** **Required:** **-Intermediate knowledge for supported operating systems; Windows Server, VMWare ESXi/vSphere. This includes services, utilities, diagnostic techniques, hardware configurations, and applicable protocols.** **-Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience in deploying infrastructure platforms or servers; net-new, expanding, and upgrading.** **-Intermediate experience in infrastructure virtualization technologies; offerings from VMware and Nutanix preferred.** **-Experience with systems utilizing one of more database technologies; Microsoft SQL Sever preferred. This includes working with vendors and/or DBAs to determine server requirements; along with meeting backup needs.** **-Basic knowledge of Microsoft SCCM or other imaging applications.** **-Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Server configurations and services; Active Directory, DFS, SMB Shares, Printer Management, Fail-over Clustering, GPO, etc.** **-Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions; Commvault preferred.** **-Basic experience with deploying, configuring, or maintaining SAN storage technologies; net-new and existing.** **-Understanding of data center best practices, including design and maintenance.** **Strong competencies in the following:** **-Ability to establish and maintain business relationships with customers, business partners, vendors, and colleagues.** **-Change Management – Ability to convey change details to leadership committees for scheduling and approval.** **-Hands-on Approach – Acts as a role model for other technical resources by maintaining subject matter expertise and remaining knowledgeable of current issues.** **-Bases decisions on the best interests of the business, while maintaining integrity when under pressure.** **-Collaborate in an open manner and be approachable. Must have the ability to conduct themselves professionally during healthy conflict.** **-Ability to prioritize team and business needs, while effectively managing resources.** **-Ability to communicate technical concepts in common terms to audiences of varying backgrounds.** **-Establish and maintain strategic relationships with other members of HCA IT&S staff; both within our division and enterprise wide. Will also build trust and rapport by consistently meeting/exceeding expectations.** **Education** **:** **-Technical certifications in VMWare Microsoft Windows Server, backup solutions, and storage is a plus.** **-Associate or Bachelor’s degree with discipline in Information Technology preferred.** **Experience** **:** **-2+ years in a role administrating, configuring, and deploying relevant server and storage technologies.** **Certification/License:** **-MCSE and VCP a plus** **-Valid state driver’s License, proof of auto insurance, and reliable personal transportation; capable of transporting both employee and standard work equipment.**
