System Engineer III
System Engineer III Business Unit United Wholesale Mortgage Location US-MI-Pontiac  

The Systems Engineer III will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining systems and infrastructure that support our enterprise environment. This role requires extensive experience with VMware (versions 7-8), Cisco Intersight Management Mode, Cisco Fabric Interconnect, Cisco MDS Switching, and Pure Storage Arrays. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of our systems.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Design, deploy, and manage VMware environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and securityUtilize Cisco Intersight Management Mode for monitoring and managing Cisco hardware and software resourcesConfigure and manage Cisco Fabric Interconnect systems to optimize data center operationsImplement and maintain Cisco MDS Switching to ensure efficient and reliable storage networkingProvision and manage Pure Storage Arrays in alignment with industry best practices and organizational needsCollaborate with other engineering teams to ensure cohesive system architecture and integrationDevelop and implement system monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery strategiesTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to virtualization, storage, and networkingAutomate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages such as PowerShell or PythonProvide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members Maintain documentation of systems configurations, processes, and procedures. Participate in on-call rotations for emergency support as needed WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Required: 

4+ years of experience in Information Technology with a focus on systems engineeringExtensive experience with VMware 7-8, including knowledge of implementation, management, and troubleshootingHands-on experience with Cisco Intersight Management Mode and Cisco Fabric InterconnectProficient in configuring and managing Cisco MDS SwitchingStrong experience with Pure Storage Arrays, including provisioning and managementSolid understanding of networking concepts and protocolsExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred: 

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldRelevant IT certifications (VCP, CCNA, etc.)Experience in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Python, or similar languages Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes)Experience in the Mortgage and/or Financial Services industry THE PLACE & THE PERKS
