Job Description
Oversee the SCADA System design consisting of various QEI components (hardware & software). Read and understand technical specifications, and apply these specifications to system design, quotations, and proposals. Oversee the design and development of new hardware and software (embedded & workstation) products. Participate in the integration, loading, configuration, and testing of SCADA, networking, and communication hardware and software. Periodically travel to the field to start up and troubleshoot systems/equipment. Manage application documentation (User Manuals) ensuring they are current with the most recent software releases.
ResponsibilitiesOversee the SCADA System design consisting of various QEI components (hardware & software).Read and understand technical specifications, applying them to system design, quotations, and proposals.Oversee the design and development of new hardware and software (embedded & workstation) products.Participate in the integration, loading, configuration, and testing of SCADA, networking, and communication hardware and software.Periodically travel to the field to start up and troubleshoot systems/equipment.Manage application documentation (User Manuals) to ensure they are current with the most recent software releases.Provide project management from inception to completion for system integration of control-based products (RTU, Control Panel, System design).Estimate, select product, and create Bill of Materials (BOM).Mentor junior engineers and oversee a team of two people.Essential SkillsSCADA system design experience.PLC programming expertise.Electrical design knowledge.HMI programming skills.Systems engineering and systems design experience.Experience with manufacturing equipment.Project management skills, particularly in system integration for control-based products.Fluent understanding of electrical/electronic schematics and interconnection diagrams.Knowledge of software programming languages such as C and SQL.Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Unix, OpenVMS, or other optional operating systems.Familiarity with source control, release, and distribution processes.Some programming experience, even if not highly proficient.Work Environment
Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM in the office. Occasional travel to client sites, less than 5% of the time, may be required. The company is currently undergoing expansion, driven by new ownership. Benefits include a quarterly bonus plan, with specific guidelines to be discussed during the interview process.
