Position: System Engineer (Post Production)

*Pay Range: $31.25 – $48.00 USD hourly
POSITION SUMMARY:
Company3/Method Studios (CO3/Method) is a global leader in media and entertainment services for film, video, and online content. As part of our facility’s engineering team, the Post-Production Systems Engineer will be responsible for deploying cutting-edge computer hardware, performing systems management and maintenance, and providing critical support to artists and production personnel.
This position offers a unique opportunity for a technical professional with a passion for continuous learning and contributing to innovative projects. You will work hands-on with high-performance computing (HPC) technology in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment alongside some of the most renowned creative teams in the industry.
MAIN DUTIES:
The Post-Production Systems Engineer will be responsible for deploying and supporting a high-performance computing environment, including workstations, servers, and storage systems. Additionally, they will work with various display technologies, ranging from state-of-the-art digital projectors and reference monitors to high-end consumer displays and film projectors. Key responsibilities include: Responding to technical issues and inquiries with a proactive, solution-oriented approach. Managing multiple customer cases simultaneously in a demanding environment, utilizing company tools and internal knowledge bases. Providing on-call support, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a rotating schedule (overtime expected). Analyzing and optimizing systems for performance, throughput, resource utilization, high availability, and scalability. Conducting root cause analyses to identify and effectively resolve system faults. Developing and maintaining clear and accurate technical documentation. Participate in racking equipment when necessary. Travel between LA facilities if necessary. Respond after-hours, weekends, and holidays on an on-call basis.
WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with post-production workflows, including editorial and digital intermediate processes, and be experienced with supporting operators using Autodesk Flame/Smoke and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve. They must have the willingness and ability to travel to customer facilities and end-user locations for system deployments and configurations, and expertise in theater, edit, and color bay support, including projector and monitor calibration. Additional desired skills include:Fundamental knowledge of networking, including IPs, subnetting, VLANs, and firewalls. Proficiency in evaluating system components, software, networking infrastructure, and hardware peripherals for reliability, performance, scalability, and security. Hands-on experience with server/PC hardware, including custom builds, parts replacement, and upgrades: Brands: Supermicro, Dell, HP, Gigabyte. Strong knowledge of operating systems: Linux (CentOS/RHEL), Windows, and macOS. Must be proficient in Linux terminal operations and related toolsets. Ability to act independently and proficiently in high-stress environments. Previous experience in a post-production environment is a plus.
