The Strategic Programs office is seeking a qualified System Engineering Intern for its Hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (C-HGB). The C-HGB is the Army’s #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.
Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will serve as the System Engineering Intern that will work closely with the Test Team and Engineering to support testing functions and documentation across all stages of production of Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB). The candidate will be working with the Test Team whose work includes testing of electronic/avionic components, requirements development and review, electrical circuit testing, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing, integration assembly and testing of HGB, design and configuration of test equipment, documentation, subsystem testing and troubleshooting. Work will be conducted in an integration/production facility along with a laboratory environment. Additionally, the candidate will work with the chief engineer performing duties in systems engineering to include system design, requirements definition, allocation, maintenance, verification/validation, system integration, systems analysis, and test for future technical improvements/insertions.
Basic Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Engineering.Must have the ability to derive requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.Must have the ability to communicate and interpret verbal communication into written requirements.Must have the ability to understand software requirements and test procedures/analysis/verification methods.Must be able to design and test electrical and avionic test equipment.Must possess organizational skills to document test procedures, test reports and support configuration management of the test equipment.Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville - North Alabama area.Must be a U.S. CitizenPreferred Qualifications

Pay Range:Pay Range $44,850.00 - $81,075.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
