We’re looking for a talented System Hardware & Software Quality Engineer to join our team and contribute to the seamless integration of our prototype hardware and WatchOS software, ensuring an unparalleled user experience. **Description** As a System Hardware & Software Quality Engineer, you will be a key player in validating prototype hardware and WatchOS software. Your contributions will directly impact the product's overall quality, ensuring both the software and hardware meet the highest standards. In this role, you will collaborate within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, developing and employing test infrastructure to drive product excellence. This position will require ~10% international travel. Key Responsibilities: - Collaboration & Test Design: Partner with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and execute system test scripts that rigorously challenge and validate prototype hardware and software, ensuring robust product performance. - Test Execution & Prioritization: Lead the timely execution of rack test plans, working closely with System EE, Program Management, and Module teams to define and prioritize test execution tasks. - Debugging & Issue Resolution: Spearhead debugging efforts alongside software and hardware teams, swiftly identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues discovered during rack testing. - Custom Scripting & Failure Analysis: Develop custom scripts for efficient failure analysis, improving overall test coverage and factory reliability. - Automation & Maintenance: Enhance and maintain stress rack automation to streamline testing processes and improve system reliability. **Minimum Qualifications** + BS degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering. + Proficiency in Python or other object-oriented programming languages. + Familiarity with computer architecture and electrical engineering principles related to hardware design. + Proven commitment to software and hardware quality assurance, with experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving bugs. + Experience with codebase management. + A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, thriving in dynamic, cross-functional environments. **Preferred Qualifications** + MS degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering. + Experience in developing test automation frameworks. + 3+ years of relevant industry experience in hardware/software quality engineering or a related field. **Pay & Benefits** At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
