System Integration Engineer
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, those in Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Annapurna Labs, as part of AWS, is seeking an experienced HW/SW System Engineer to join the Annapurna Labs System Platform Interface Validation (SPIV) team. Our products include the most advanced interfaces and technologies, widely used in AWS data centers as the backbone for Nitro (https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/nitro/), Graviton (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDKwwFQKfSI) and other services. The candidate will own an End-to-End (E2E) subset of system Ethernet interfaces across a range of products, from the initial concept phase to post-deployment debug in the data center.

As a member of a SPIV team, you will own an E2E subset of system Ethernet interfaces across a range of products through the product life cycle: Architectural concept and design, Validation, Integration and Deployment and post-deployment support.

Key job responsibilities
As owner you will set the strategy for the interfaces you own, ensure that the design works well, and drive complex system debug, involving HW, FW, and SW components. You will work at an amazingly broad scale and will also provide leadership, by driving the teams around you to raise the bar and deliver higher quality products on behalf of Amazon customers. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you will work with thought leaders in multiple areas of technology. You will set high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you will be constantly looking for ways to improve the performance, quality, cost, and reliability of AWS products and services. We are changing an industry and we want individuals who are ready for this challenge and want to reach beyond what is possible today.

Key job responsibilities:
• Approving future products' microarchitecture related to the interface you own.
• Defining new products' validation strategy and leading the execution.
• Supporting ongoing integrations of new products.
• Monitoring and raising operational excellence related to the interface you own.
• Leading triage, debugging, and root cause analysis of systems in AWS data centers.
• Enhancing the ability to troubleshoot issues and driving for closure of in-fleet problems.
• Analyzing customers' mode of work/ requirements and providing resolutions accordingly.
• Cooperating with AWS teams to improve quality and reliability of products' operation in the fleet.
• Providing Annapurna Labs' ASIC design, software development, QA, and architecture teams with information and requirements from customers' fleet operation perspectives and representing the customer voice.
• Driving and maintaining trainings, quality documentation, and collateral to improve in-fleet operation.
• Designing and defining various tools and scripts to support projects and customizing them as per requirements.
• Traveling abroad as necessary, several times a year.
