About the Role
The System Performance Expert is responsible for managing all aspects of system performance from architectural design down to debugging & pre-analyzing of measurement results & defects occurring in the system during the development lifecycle. He is responsible for the specification of Key Performing Indicators of our systems to meet the customer expectations and in an overarching function, he leads the cross-domain teams to achieve the performance goals.
What You Will Do
Check & control concepts in the project architectural designs to achieve performance targetsApply performance related working practices, methods and tools. Ensure alignment within Harman and with customer, 3rd parties and automotive standardsCheck and control the performance specific Trace & Debug architecture & toolsDrive clarification of performance requirements with domain stakeholders to ensure sustainable solutions.Define and monitor resource budgets according to the architectural designDefine reliable methods and use cases to verify continuously and automatically the KPIsEnsure continuous KPI test execution and evaluate the results. Assign performance findings to the appropriate SW domain and align results with customerProvide reports of the results and suitable action plans on demand to PM and to the customerAgree on suitable trace markers and use cases with SW domains in order to ensure reliable and automated KPI measurementsSupervision of SW domain specialists to improve their sub-system architecture design in terms of performanceProvide solution proposals for errors where applicable, actively steering the bug-fixing by technical coordination of all involved parties with multiple dependenciesProvide performance statistics to the teamsReview of SW code and design conceptsApply state-of-the-art methods to ensure and optimize SW qualityWhat You Need
Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or equivalentAt least 5 years of professional experience in software development with focus on embedded Linux or Android systemsExperience in system inspection, especially CPU resource monitoringProven knowledge of Trace & Debugging tools & architectureProfound knowledge of Linux SW Performance evaluation & Problem solvingProfessional skills in C/C++ and shell programming, Python is beneficialPractical experience in technical coordinating/collaboration with distributed international engineering teamsSelf-driven, autonomous and systematic way of workingGood communication and technical presentation skillsFluent English communication skills both written and verbalWhat is Nice to Have
Knowledge in Ethernet, TCP/IP networking, IPC mechanismsKnowledge of Automotive Cyber Security conceptsGood understanding of embedded hardware and software architecturesWhat We Offer
