System Safety Engineer
Job Title: System Safety Engineer
Job Description

This position will conduct System Safety analysis in accordance with the latest version of MIL-STD-882, Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) 385-17, and applicable standards per government direction. The Principal Systems Safety Engineer is responsible for maintaining a safety assignment throughout a program’s life cycle and collaborating with various disciplines.

ResponsibilitiesConduct System Safety analysis in accordance with MIL-STD-882 and AMCOM 385-17 standards.Maintain a safety assignment throughout the program’s life cycle.Collaborate with various disciplines to ensure safety standards are met.Prepare reports on complex systems using technical writing skills.Support program events such as tests and program reviews by traveling as needed (up to 20% of the time).Essential SkillsKnowledge of MIL-STD-882E and other military standards.Experience in safety engineering, hazard analysis, human factors, and software safety.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.Ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.At least 2 years of Systems Safety Engineering experience with DoD contracts.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Proficiency in technical writing.Work Environment

The role requires the ability to travel to support program events and training activities 20% of the time. The work environment involves collaborating with various disciplines and adhering to government-directed safety standards.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.

401k. Will match 100% of the first 5% contributed
Vacation/Sick PTO (hours vary). Can also go negative 80 hours (40 vacation/40 sick if you haven’t accrued enough time)
Several staff events/employee appreciation days throughout the year
