Position Overview:

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for a highly motivatedcomputer systems/Network security engineer to join the ArgonST team located in Fairfax.The selected candidate will be responsible for hardware and software system security integrationinto highly scalable communications systems utilizing leading edge networking hardware. This position will provide a great learning opportunity to see technology at the forefront of defense electronics. ArgonST is a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company.

Position Responsibilities:

Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.

Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.

Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.

Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.

Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.An interim or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science1+ years of experience in performing system administration tasks on Windows and Linux hosts including installing security patches and making configuration changes to support security requirements3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Perl or PythonPrior knowledge of network communication concepts, principles and architectures, associated with network planning, design, integration and maintenance, as well as end-to-end knowledge of network transport technologies, systems, environments, services, protocols, performance monitoring and diagnostic analysis3+ years of experience in cyber-security, information assurance, or related field

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):

Active TS/SCI security clearanceGeneral knowledge of some programming languages is desired (preferred Python, C++ and/or Java), with the strong candidate having knowledge build processes and debug skills.Familiarity with software development tools, including compilers and configuration management tools.  Experience with configuring hypervisors and deploying VMs.   Experience with advanced scripting languages (OO), for example Perl or Python, is also a strong assetSystems integration experience, including application database and integration across computing platforms

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range:

Associate (level 2):  $87,550 - $118,450

Experience (level 3):  $104,550 - $141,450
