Job DescriptionWe are seeking a qualified, motivated individual to join GDIT as a Systems/Solutions Architect. As part of our deployment information technology team, you will develop a high-level understanding of the complex systems governing and facilitating our customer business operations, making recommendations, and implementing changes to increase efficiency and support overall application objectives. You will collaborate with GDIT technical leadership, EPA Customers, and other key stakeholders to assess our existing and new systems infrastructure. You will work closely with our Security assessment team to make sure all architectural design meets agency policy and guidelines. You will then determine how best to update, upgrade, and reorganize our technology to create a lean, efficient Systems/Solutions Architecture capable of supporting our various projects and goals. You will maintain production application system architecture documentation thought out the life cycle of the application.
Systems/Solutions Architect Duties and Responsibilities
Periodically audit existing systems infrastructure and architecture to ensure an accurate, high-level understanding of present capabilities
Update architecture diagrams to ensure accuracy on production systems
Report to leadership and key stakeholders regarding your findings, making recommendations and providing clear roadmaps for successful changes
Collaborate with other IT professionals and software engineers to develop systems solutions capable of supporting customer and NCC goals
Collaborate with the teams that implement changes in physical hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies including Cloud, On-Prem hosting including DevSecOps teams.
Working with PISO and Security to assist developing Authorization To Test (ATT). Authorization To Operate (ATO) and Authorization To Use (ATU).
Systems/Solutions Architect Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field; master's degree or equivalent professional experience is preferredComprehensive knowledge of corporate Systems/Solutions Architecture processes and trendsStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsExperience with software development cyclesExpert knowledge of programming languages and technologies, including Python, Java, PHP, Apex, Drupal, SharePoint, Atlassian, GitLab, .NET, Salesforce, Docker and Containers, NGINX, Postgres, Ruby on Rails,Cloud experience in AWS/Azure/Cloud.govNetwork Architecture: Active Directory, Load traffic management (Loadbalancers), WAF (Web Application Firewall)Systems/Solutions Architect Desired Experience
