System Specialist is knowledgeable on usage & support of a collection of development platforms or technical architectures, & products that run on those platforms.

Complete Description:

Must use individual judgment interpreting operational instructions in analyzing problems and determining restarts for recovery. Thoroughly examine listing /printout of cancelled runs for duplicates or errors. Inform programmer/analyst before instructing outsourcer to proceed with restart.

 

Coordinate all printing with Willow Oak facility (outsourcer) and offer provider any assistance to their personal throughout the workweek, which might require operational expertise on certain job functions, including abnormal terminations and restart procedures. Provide advice with problems such as disk pack space and JCL errors.

 

Responsible for daily printing of EASE determinations using Infoprint and the Xerox Docu Print 155MX laser printers.

 

Inform shift supervisor in the event of hardware malfunctions on the assigned system and to take corrective action in notifying vendors of such problems.

 

Responsibility to insure that computer room is fully stocked with supplies in order to maintain efficient operation, with paper, fuser oil, toner etc.

 

Maintain the delivery/pickup schedule for the 2nd and 3rd floors throughout the day. Also per special request to make a delivery during a non-scheduled time to upper floors or mail room.

 

Separate all listings for easy verification for D.A. Unit. Always checking for errors, print quality and accuracy.

 

Responsible for scheduling and initiating daily label print jobs using a personal computer and a laser printer.

 

Responsible for obtaining meter readings for three Xerox laser printers for monthly billing purposes.

 

Monitor the batch processing cycles for SWIF, UCMS, BWC and CWDS. Closely following formatted procedures to log onto the $Universe Scheduling software package and follow all run and error handling procedures. Contact and assist technical support staff in identifying and resolving processing errors and follow restart instructions to continue or terminate the batch processing as directed by application support staff.

 

Provide level 1 monitoring of the TIVOLI Enterprise Console for critical or fatal error conditions that affect the health of the Labor & Industry servers, network and applications. Work with on-call technical staff to communicate the problem, document actions taken and assist I any resolutions as requested.
