GENERAL DESCRIPTION \n\nThe System Specialist II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, analysis, troubleshooting and repair of computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, and VoIP phones. Installs, documents, maintains, upgrades and replaces hardware and software as needed.\n\n
DUTIES\n\nProvide Help Desk support to diagnose and resolve local and remote user issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.\nTroubleshoot local and remote issues, including network connectivity, VPN configuration, and hardware\/software malfunctions using remote tools.\nProvide audio-visual support for meetings, events, and other requirements.\nCollaborate with IT staff to consistently apply and enforce corporate IT policies and procedures.\nManage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, including password resets.\nInstall, configure, and maintain IT systems, including developing system images and setting up new devices.\nInstall, configure, and troubleshoot network cabling, switches, access points, VoIP phones, and peripheral devices.\nDeliver user training to improve technology adoption and compliance.\nDocument technical procedures and maintain an organized IT storage and server environment.\nAssist in upgrading and optimizing IT systems for enhanced performance.\nHandle escalations and perform after-hours support for critical issues.\nReport misuse of IT resources to the IT Director.\nPerform preventive maintenance procedures to ensure quality performance and detect early warning signals.\nProvide regular education to ensure policies\/procedures are understood.\nCarry out complex assignments requiring the development of new techniques and procedures.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n
EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\n\nAssociate's degree or 3 years of on the job IT experience in lieu of degree\nExperience supporting Windows systems, and all MS Office products within a large corporate environment\nExcellent customer support and written\/verbal skills\nAbility to grasp advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts and creatively solve problems to meet customer needs\nAdvanced knowledge and understanding of a range of computer, networking, software systems and related technologies\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively. Must possess the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel\nSome after hours and weekend work will be required.\nWe maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.\n\n
