Job Description

The System Technologist will be responsible for deploying and troubleshooting MOTOTRBO and Safety Re-Imagined systems concentrating on the configuration, optimization, and testing of the system. The Tech will work closely with the customer and engineering team to configure the system to meet the customer’s expectations and needs.

Responsibilities will include the following:

Perform complex system implementation tasks as a subject matter expert

Optimization and support of complex communication systems

Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications including troubleshooting of software driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture

Program, configure, optimize, test and document complex communications systems

Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with focus on trend analysis and documentation of results

Team up with engineering, project management and sales personnel to effectively design, implement, optimize and cut-over advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations

Provide guidance in integrating new tools and test equipment into the project implementation process

Responsible for calibration of assigned test equipment and keeping the test equipment database up to date

*50-75% travel domestically and some internationally. 2 or 3 out of 4 weeks of travel*

Qualifications:

Ability to present and facilitate technical training sessions.

Knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls and bridges. Must be capable of installation of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues.

Must have knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks

Must have knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet switching techniques

Must have a valid driver’s license

Target Base Salary Range: $59,200 - $94,700 USD

Basic Requirements

Required Skills:

Associates degree, Technical Certificate plus 2+ years experience in RF, LMR, Networking, Radios or Communications, OR 4+ years experience in RF, LMR, Networking, Radios or Communications required.

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by our government customers.
