Description Are you an experienced Systems Administrator with a strong background in infrastructure and systems management, eager to contribute to the success of a dynamic professional services firm? This hybrid role, based out of downtown Boston, offers the opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative environment while working onsite 3 days per week. If you’re skilled in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, VMware, and backup solutions, we’d like to hear from you! Key Responsibilities: + Server Management: Manage and maintain Windows Servers (2016, 2019, 2022), ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability to meet business needs. + Active Directory Administration: Maintain and configure Active Directory infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, FSMO roles, Sites and Services, and group policies. + Virtualization Support: Administer VMware environments, including Horizon and gold image maintenance, ensuring optimal virtualization operations. + Cluster Configuration: Assist with configuring and maintaining server clusters (experience here is a plus but not required). + Backup & Recovery: Take ownership of backup strategies and recovery operations, particularly using solutions such as Veeam; ensure data integrity and implement effective disaster recovery protocols. + Monitoring & Maintenance: Conduct regular system monitoring, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to address issues proactively. + Security & Compliance: Ensure systems adhere to organizational security standards and compliance requirements. + Documentation: Create and maintain detailed records of configurations, processes, troubleshooting guides, and incident reports. Requirements Technical Expertise: + Multiple years of hands-on experience with Windows Server environments. + Advanced knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and server role configurations. + Familiarity with VMware/Omnissa environments, including Horizon and gold image maintenance. + Experience with backup solutions, especially Veeam (preferred), and an understanding of core backup principles. + Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across server and network environments. + Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams and ensure IT systems meet organizational goals. Education and Experience Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred). + 3-5+ years of experience in systems administration or a similar hands-on IT role. Work Schedule and Environment: This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work in downtown Boston 3 days per week, with flexibility for remote work on other days.
