**Description** The Mission Concepts and Capabilities Division (MCC) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a motivated, energetic **Systems Administrator** to support the government in the development and application of high-assurance computer security systems hardware and software. This contingent position, expected to start late spring or early summer 2025, will support provide support on-site in the National Capital Region, from ARA facilities, and via telecommuting when approved. The successful candidate will engage in the administration and development of high-assurance network systems. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related discipline with 5+ years of related experience OR high school diploma with 10+ years of directly relevant experience in systems administration + Must be a US Citizen + DoD TOP SECRET clearance + Ability to work independently or as part of a team + Experience in the administration and development of high assurance network systems + Experience with cryptographic protocols for the secure routing of messages + Experience in the integration, testing, and analysis of high assurance operational network systems, such as intrusion detection systems (IDSs), firewalls, Layer 2/3 network switches, enterprise-level virus/malware detection systems, network security scanners, and Virtualization, + Experience with two or more of the following development languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Linux Scripting, PowerShell, Ruby, PHP, CSS, VBS, SQL or Assembly + Experience in creating and maintaining the standards of systems operating procedures **Desired Qualifications:** + Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related discipline with three (3) or more years of related experience in systems administration or + PhD in computer science, electrical engineering or related discipline + Experience in the analysis of unknown binary program behavior using static and dynamic techniques + Experience in understanding government high-assurance computer systems and network environments + Experience in research and development of secure high-assurance systems + Experience is managing system security notifications, such as IAVAs, IAVBs, IAVMs, etc. and developing a course of action for system remediation to ensure NRL general computational systems maintain a high assurance posture + Successful completion of Microsoft Azure Administrator course, Course AZ-104T00-A: Microsoft Azure Administrator or its successors. + Current IAT-II certification, such as Security+ CE or CCNA-Security. + Knowledge of Mandiant Security Validation (MSV) platform fundamentals, deployment, integration, and security jobs **COMPANY INFORMATION:** Applied Research Associates, Inc. is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences.
