Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the IT Manager, administers all aspects of an advanced, distributed computer system supporting Quechan Casino Resort and Paradise Casino operations. Plans and coordinates system utilization and performs growth analysis and capacity planning. Performs systems and applications analysis/design and programming to produce a variety of innovative solutions to complex problems. Performs installation, maintenance, training, and user support, as required. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage multiple linked databases to include security, data safety and integrity, disaster recovery, and development and implementation of bulk data import/export procedures.  Manages multiple physical and virtual file and database servers, workstations, and terminals, ensuring proper integration of these components with existing computer systems.  Maintains a security patching and application update plan Plans and implements system security policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions, and user accounts.  Conducts growth analysis and capacity planning and develops capital and operating budget proposals. Maintains all aspects of data backup and recovery applications including regular testing and logging. Supports Active Directory configurations and security components. Provides on-call consulting advice and technical support to various users/clients regarding specific operational/applications issues.  Designs and develops advanced methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying data for input and/or retrieval.  Designs and programs specific applications in response to department needs; installs and debugs new and/or upgraded software on server and client platforms, ensuring compliance with current site licenses; designs, programs, and manages websites and associated pages.  Research, evaluates, purchases, installs, configures, and troubleshoots all hardware, peripherals, and equipment necessary to meet integrated systems objectives.  Troubleshoots networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.  Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information. Contributes to team effort and accomplishes related results as required. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field, two years’ experience in systems and Microsoft Server administration and applications. Two years’ experience with data backup and recovery applications, both on prem and cloud-based. Will consider Certification(s) with emphasis on hardware, computer networks, and system administration.  Gaming experience is preferred. Must be at least 21 years old.  Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, random drug and controlled substance abuse tests, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license in California and Arizona. Native American preference and/or experience with Native American culture and government preferred. Tribal preference given to qualified tribal membership.
