Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a candidate to maintain an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

Provide routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architecturesTroubleshoots system hardware and software issuesTrains end users on the proper use of hardware and softwarePerforms basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packagesMonitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levelsEnsures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutionsEnsure data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operationsConducts basic hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network usersMay evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies

Candidates should have 1 year + related experience

The following knowledge/skill set is not required but is a plus:

Microsoft System Center Configuration ManagerPowerShellVirtualization Environments (VMware, Citrix)Profile management utilizing the VMware User Experience Management (UEM) toolsetMicrosoft ExchangeTelephone/Video supportNetworkingFamiliarity with site specific customer and mission

Certification Requirement (required day 1) IAT II
