Locations: St. Louis, MO - Belmont, CA - Boston, MA.
Primary Responsibility:
The candidate is responsible for systems administration within the team IT infrastructure and operations. Support encompasses power plant sites, corporate headquarters, datacenters, and regional offices. Individual will be responsible for hands-on day-to-day support of infrastructure hosted in Amazon Web Services and on premise systems as needed basis. AWS infrastructure consists of Linux and Windows servers and applications and databases. Individual is also responsible for managing hardware and software, on premise Windows servers, storage systems, databases and reporting applications, messaging services, directory services, backup and recovery applications, security systems, disaster recovery, and asset management.
Additional responsibilities include:-
• Deploy and administration of physical and virtual servers’ infrastructure. Operating systems installation, upgrade, configuration, standardization and deployments.
• Responding to support issues related to Linux and Windows servers hosted in AWS.
• Will be responsible for setting up new instances in AWS
• Will be responsible for monitoring system health and performance of instances deployed in AWS
• Monitor of infrastructure systems health, assess alarm conditions, conduct incident review and root cause analysis, and escalate incidents as appropriate.
• Participate in change management; perform systems, storage, and network maintenance, apply updates and patches, tuning, resource trending and administration.
• Document and follow configurations, processes and procedures
• Aid in infrastructure and disaster recovery planning for servers, storage, and network systems
• Analyze needs, research and evaluate technical options, propose and implement solutions.
• Participate and contribute in tasks and IT projects. Coordinate with end users and external parties (vendors, consultants?etc.) as appropriate.
• Validate overall service availability, performance, integrity, redundancy, security, and business continuity. Conduct disaster recovery testing and backup and recovery testing.
• Participate in IT support for Global Services projects, facilities projects, datacenter infrastructure, and M&A projects. Play a proactive role in identifying and helping to resolve critical issues that may arise in each functional area.
• When required, travel to other sites and offices for IT implementation and support.
• Manage and maintain procurement, inventory, and lifecycle of IT assets. Perform routine audits of systems and software. Track new orders and coordinate delivery and receiving of IT assets.
• Will be required to carry a Mobile Phone and respond to after hours on call support issues.
Technologies and Skills required:-
• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of experience in Amazon Web Services Experience
• 4+ years of experience in Linux administration
• 3+ years of Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2008
• Knowledge of firewalls and networking experience is a plus
• Use of monitoring and tools - SCOM, Solarwinds, Cloud Watch
• VMWare, Hyper-V knowledge are a plus
• Certifications in AWS, Linux Admin or Microsoft Server Admin are a plus
• Antivirus platform exposure a plus: Symantec End Point Protection Antivirus
• Backup platform exposure a plus: HP Data Protector, TSM, Legato
• Familiar with the following:
o SQL experience a plus
o LAMP experience a plus
Education/ Experience:
• Minimum 3 years related IT systems administration experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or MIS preferred
• MCSE or demonstrated relevant experience preferred
• CCNA or demonstrated relevant experience preferred
• Knowledge of SCADA system connectivity and security preferred
