The Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure both located within the Business Area Network and remote services. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, partners, and customers.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the maintenance of servers in all capacities that include, but not limited to: configuring, installing new hardware/software, performing upgrades to existing servers & software, coordinating the introduction of additional servers and storage to the network, following security policies and procedures, and performing other technical duties as neededMaintain servers and storage for business area business applicationsProvide platform infrastructure supportProvide general business application supportMaintain detailed inventory of Business Area assetsMaintain documentation of network server configurations, application licensing agreements, and other third party software installedMaintain server and related hardwareResponsible for backup systems process and proceduresDocument repair/maintenance and change requests through ServiceNow ticketing systemPerform on call after hours support as part of the rotationWork closely with the Engineering Development teams to provide any required hardware, system, software supportProactively monitor the infrastructure including servers to prevent issues and to resolve issues as they happenExperience in supporting applications in Linux, Microsoft, RTOS.Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting wired/wireless networks and related equipmentParticipate in testing of new software and hardwareExperience with standing up CI/CD infrastructure and software development supportRemediate compliancy issues including Cyber security compliance (CMMC) Good documentation and communication skillsBuild prototype systems for demo and testingInstall and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processesPerform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, and assessing impact of issues

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's Degree in an information technology related field with at least 6 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experienceRelevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education3-5 years' experience implementing and supporting Linux Systems (RHEL, CentOS)3-5 years' Experience implementing and supporting Virtual Hosting Infrastructure (VMware ESXi, VCenter, VSphere, VRealize, Kubernetes and/or other Container based technologies)3-5 years' Experience  with IT Operations Monitoring Tools (PRTG, VROperations, Solarwinds)Ability to Trouble shoot Network connectivity between Server InfrastructureExperience with networks (LAN, WAN, VLAN) and patch management of devicesFamiliarity with administration and troubleshooting various operating systems and platforms (Red Hat Linux, CentOS, Microsoft)Excellent communication skills

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $94,345.12 - $129,724.54. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
