Serco has a great opportunity with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division supporting the Undersea Warfare Electromagnetic Systems Department, Technical Direction Agent and In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for electromagnetic programs for U.S. Navy platforms, located in the beautiful surroundings of Middletown, Rhode Island.
Serco supports the US. Navy MILSATCOM Systems and the NUWC Division which provides technical oversight for the implementation, integration, testing, operational support, training, integrated logistics engineering, cyber security support and sustainment within the U.S Navy platforms for submarines, surface ships, aircraft, and facilities ashore. The mission and activities include overall research, development, and design oversight of Navy protected and wideband MILSATCOM systems and associated baseband equipment.
In this role, you will:
Maintain and update hardware and software inventory documentationManage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipmentPlan, execute and verify data redundancy and system recovery proceduresInstall, update, and troubleshoot systems/serversEvaluate and install patches and resolve software related problemsPerform system backups and recoveryComply with organization systems administration standard operating procedure.Implement and enforce local network usage policies and proceduresConduct functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing Support the development of, and documentation of systems administration standard operating procedures (SOP)Provide support for Design group policies and access control lists to ensure compatibility with organization standards, business rules, and needsMaintain baseline system security according to organizational policiesMonitor and maintain data files and system/server configuration through the management of system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, integrity and recoverabilityDiagnose faulty system/server hardware and perform repairs on faulty system/server hardware, if requiredProvide support for critical preventive and corrective maintenance, information assurance, asset management, technical systems updates, service call resolution, and configuration management for C4I systems worldwideProvide ongoing optimization and problem-solving supportCheck system hardware availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiencyConduct periodic system maintenance including cleaning (both physically and electronically), disk checks, routing reboots, data dumps, and testing QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:
Active DoD Secret ClearanceA current IAT Level 2 (Security +, CompTIA A+, or Network +) certificationBachelor’s Degree and 2 years of experience in a related area or,Associate’s degree and 3 years of experience in a related area, in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree2 years of working experience in the administration of Window’s Active Directory infrastructure to include Group Policy Object management experience, VMware ESXi server, data base solutions to include Microsoft SQL and Oracle databasesA strong understanding of current Microsoft supported Windows operating systemsThe ability to multi-task and teach or assist others to resolve Systems related issuesThe ability to create Standard Operating Procedure documentation for designs and implementation strategies of new hardware and software deploymentsThe ability to produce system specifications, design requirements, test evaluation planning documents, and technical publications and reportsThe ability to support project at client sites where working conditions may varyThe willingness to take ownership of problems and see thru to resolutionExperience with Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6/7, Cisco IOSWilling to travel up to 10%.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Familiarity with DoD networking and security accreditation requirements is desiredExperience with HBSS, eMASS, ACAS, SCAP, VRAM, DIACAP/RMF
