We are hiring up to 2 (two) full time, permanent Systems Analyst, Web positions working out of Edmonton, AB.

The Web Systems Analyst provides web technology support to the Application Services department and EPCOR as a whole. They are responsible for maintaining, operating and enhancing EPCOR’s custom web applications. The Web Systems Analyst will provide usability focused solutions which delight our customers.What you’d be responsible for

Reporting to the Manager, Web & Mobile, you would be accountable for but not limited to:

 

Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate operational performance metrics:Incident Delivery and ResponsivenessDelivery on Change Request estimationsCustomer Satisfaction SurveysSystem AvailabilityProcess ImprovementsMonitoring application performance and tracking performance trends including hardware and OS resources Ensuring system reliability and availability through proactive system monitoring, maintenance and change managementProviding excellent customer service to our customers. Employs open communication and problem solving skills to resolve customer issues and incidents efficiently and effectively within expected timeframes.Abiding by all Application Services departmental policies and processes for the purpose of consistent support and administrative practices throughout Application ServicesScheduling and performing deployments on production systemsProvide on-call support for all web applicationsWhat’s required to be successfulDegree in Computer Science or Engineering OR diploma in Computer Engineering, System Technology or Management Information Systems4-6 years of related experience in Web Operations and/or DevelopmentCandidates possessing less than the required years of experience may be considered for a developmental positionBroad understanding of IT conceptsExperience with Agile/SCRUM using one or more common programming languagesExperience supporting large public facing websites or intranets is an assetFamiliarity with basic networking concepts like load balancers, firewalls and domainsExperience in web technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, MVC, Angular, ReactJS, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap and JavaScriptExperience working with technical and non-technical end usersDemonstrated capability to design, develop and unit test web solutionsCan comfortably move between tech stacksProven track record of ability to diagnose, research, recommend and implement solutions to production problemsEffective interpersonal and customer service skills which will help to build and foster lasting relationshipsStrong work ethic and critical thinking skills that will allow for success in a highly visible area of Information ServicesSeeks out and acts on opportunities to learn new skills and improve processes and procedures within the teamStrives to efficiently fulfill customer requests and complete assigned tasks with a high degree of qualityOther important facts about this job

Jurisdiction: CSU52

Class: IT2

Wage: IT2 starting at $53.05 per hour; developmental (IT1) starting at $48.58 per hour (Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and are based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement.)

Hours of work: 75 hours biweekly
