Job Description: As a System Engineer II you will be responsible for supporting Oracle Cerner Health Care Client’s IT Infrastructure involving management of Linux servers. You will be expected to deliver Systems Management Support through 24X7 On-Call duties & work shifts that provide coverage to all the US time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux (RHEL) servers, ensuring their security and stability. Troubleshoot and resolve OS, software and hardware issues. Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication mechanisms. Configure and manage system services, applications, and scheduled tasks (cron jobs). Monitor system performance, availability, resource utilization and perform capacity management. Write shell scripts, Python, or other automation scripts for routine tasks. Perform regular system updates and patch management. Document and maintain system configuration, SOPs and troubleshooting steps. Provide support for application teams and other stakeholders. Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes Monitor system security and implement security measures to safeguard data Implement and manage firewalls, security policies, and intrusion detection systems.Required skills:
Extensive experience in administering Linux-based systems (RedHat\Oracle Linux). Good understanding on storage solution and LVM. Strong knowledge of Linux command-line tools and shell scripting. Knowledge on networking and firewalls. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Experience with system monitoring tools (Nagios, Solarwinds, UIM). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Understanding of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or others. Good communication and documentation skills.Required qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or related field or equivalent experience. Certification in Linux systems (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, Oracle Certified Professional Oracle Linux System Administrator).Years of Experience: 3 – 5 Years
