UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central information technology organization for the University of Washington, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW’s IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW Medicine, and research operations around the world. UW-IT partners with the UW community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service. Data & Applications (D&A) is the division in UW-IT that runs the university’s academic and business systems, productivity platforms, enterprise integrations, learning analytics and data for decision-making and is also responsible for the accessibility of UW’s digital resources. Data Integrations is the unit within D&A focused on data, especially UW Administrative data. The unit leads integrating data into the enterprise, amplifying the value of UW's data, and ultimately enabling our customers' success. The HRP Data Integrations unit is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support the technical deliverables for its Workday Integrations suite. The Business Systems Analyst will play a key role in ensuring consistent standards and approaches are applied as they produce content related to technical requirements, specifications, operational documentation, as well as data and system architecture diagrams. This position will be a liaison between the business and technical resources assisting in the translation between business rules or requirements with technical solutions. The Business Systems Analyst will also produce materials and consult with units across the academic and clinical enterprise as they perform technical development and operational activities. This position will also be expected to take an active role in the Operational and Production Support duties of the team. This means they will be responsible for scheduling and running some of the mission-critical, time-sensitive integrations that the team is responsible for as well as checking for successful completion of these integrations, triaging and troubleshooting any issues that might occur, and if necessary communicating status with business partners and re-processing integrations and / or re-delivering files. They will also be expected to take part in running and improving our team processes and documents. This position provides the opportunity to work as a team member on an enterprise-focused team in a challenging, diverse, and rewarding environment. This position will also provide opportunities for hands-on technical experience in the development, support, and operation of our Workday Integrations suite. **REQUIREMENTS:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Library Sciences or related field or experience. + Minimum of four years’ experience in business analysis and requirements gathering. + Excellent problem-solving skills + Technical writing and communication skills. + Outstanding collaboration skills with colleagues at all levels and across different organizations. + Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. + Experience facilitating meetings, constructively addressing input and criticism, and resolving conflicts. + Effectively presents complex technical material to non-technical audiences in an approachable way. + Able to understand and communicate business relevance to management / leadership teams. + Ability to train, mentor, and guide others + Demonstrated excellent written/oral communication skills, technical documentation skills, user liaison skills, and personal interaction abilities. + Demonstrated knowledge and work experience with enterprise-wide relational databases. + Experience in process and project management in a large volume data environment. + Knowledge of multiple business subject areas, i.e. Finance and HCM, Payroll, etc. + Strong experience with data management / data integration design and implementations. + Experience scheduling and running Workday Integrations. + Examining and interpreting Workday Process Monitor and logs. + Able to communicate clearly and effectively with business partners and development staff to triage and resolve issues. **DESIRED:** + Experience conducting quality assurance and/or user acceptance testing. + Experience in a major research (R1) university setting. + Experience in an agile software development environment. + Desire and ability to learn about and to support existing applications + Ability to quickly learn new technologies, as needed + Proficient in modern technologies such as: + ElasticSearch + Python + Postman/SoapUI + C# + Workday WQL or RaaS (Report As A Service) + Java + XML + Github + SQL Server + Power BI + Tableau **CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT** Hybrid, open office environment **Application Process:** The application process may include completion of a variety of online assessments to obtain additional information that will be used in the evaluation process.
