Systems Analyst (Customer Service)

The Systems Analyst supports the department's responsibility of providing reliable and accurate information and telecommunications technology to support the customer service, billing, accounts receivable management, outage management, maintenance and construction activities, oppd.com, field service activities, and other customer and transmission and distribution operations applications. The Systems Analyst supports these functions by identifying and documenting requirements for information technology applications; performing the testing and implementation of these applications; and performing analysis and reporting of customer and operations information. Works with employees in Customer Service Operations, Information Technology, Communications, Transmission and Distribution Operations, Finance and other departments to research, document, recommend and implement efficient work processes.
1. Provide reliable and accurate information and customer service technology.
- Maintain software control and security to assure the software applications are operating according to OPPD Policies and Procedures, billing is performed as defined in OPPD's Service Regulations and Rate Schedules, and operational processes are functioning as desired.
- Interpret software specifications and develop and execute test plans to assure applicable information and telecommunications applications and reports are producing accurate and timely results.
- Support the customer service, billing, accounts receivable management, outage management, maintenance and construction activities, oppd.com, field service activities and other customer and transmission and distribution operations applications.
2. Identify and document requirements for technology applications.
- Provide reporting and analysis of customer and operational data using various technologies to summarize results for management reports and/or daily operation.
- Use project management concepts to effectively manage small projects.
- Investigate and recommend actions to resolve system issues reported by users. Record, maintain and monitor software operating failure and enhancement request in the appropriate issue report application
- Conceptualize and document requirements, including accounting procedures and controls which meet generally accepted accounting principles and FERC guidelines, for technology, business applications, and reports to meet OPPD's customer service, billing, accounts receivable management and field service requirements for all product and service offerings.
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in a related field (Business Administration, Business Analysis, Business Intelligence, Management Information Systems or Engineering) OR two (2) or more year's relevant experience with customer service, billing, accounts receivable and field service operations processes and systems.
- Strong interpersonal communications, organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong personal computer skills, including all aspects of Microsoft Office, the ability to design/maintain Excel spreadsheets, and create ad hoc queries and analysis of customer and operations data using query tools that are desired to perform successfully.
- Ability to interpret system specifications, develop test plans and identify potential problems and risks.
- Ability to apply creative approaches, new techniques and the latest information technology to meet all project deadlines.
- Ability to present themselves in a professional manner and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Support several projects simultaneously and the ability to respond to user problems and requests as they arise are essential.
- Work independently and offer solid recommendations on system issues is critical to the success of this position.
