Job Description

Systems Analysts in the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Group are responsible for mapping data flows between Expeditors and our customers. This consists of analyzing customer specifications describing how they will send data or how they want data received, understanding how that information will be used in the context of our business and proprietary systems, and distilling it into a mapping document used to create the code that transforms the data.

Qualifications

Major Duties and Responsibilities:  

Collaborate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements and complete projectsPerform analysis on business/system requirements and technical specificationsProduce mapping documentProduce a test plan, run, and validate all relevant outputs to verify program logicEstablish data-communication links with trading partnersProduce operational documentation for end usersReview and evaluate incoming work requestsMeet aggressive goals for project deliverables and completion by using best practices for project management

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

Minimum of 2+ years of relevant EDI analyst experience.Excellent analytical skillsDeep understanding of database structures, data files, and data relationshipsStrong working knowledge of business and operational processesAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritiesAbility to design creative and innovative solutions to meet the customer’s needsAbility to take complex concepts and break them down for a non-technical audienceWorking knowledge of SQLProficiency with EDI Standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT), XML, and flat files.
